Summer was almost over for Herman. In just a short time it would be too cold for him to graze in the park, marking the end of his adventures there. Once autumn came, the park would be torn apart to make way for the construction of expensive condos and a premium grocery store. It made the guardian sad, but Herman was more optimistic about it. The park’s dirt was old, too compact and hard for him to dig in properly. When the new park was built at the end of the block, it would have fresh soil and he looked forward to seeing how deep he could dig.
