Day 181: Herman moves water using coconut

It was a rather ingenious plan. The guardian had been spending a lot of time at home, but much of that time had been spent sleeping so when Herman wanted his basking area to have nice, cool soil to wiggle his toes in he decided to make it happen himself. He had noticed that every time he walked into the pond, bits of substrate would follow him in. And with each repeat visit into the pond, the substrate on the ramp would get closer and closer to the water’s edge. He reasoned that if he got enough substrate onto the ramp and into the water, the water would draw itself out of the pond and into the dryer basking area. Which is exactly what happened, until the pond was completely drained dry. Herman was very pleased with the arrangement, but found he was only able to do this twice before the guardian moved his substrate off the pond ramp.
